Pulley squeeling after antifreeze spilled on it.
I got the "coolant temp below recomended setting" fault. I pulled the thermostat and looked at it and put it back in. Not sure if it was the issue but I ordered a new one anyway. It's supposed to be in the mail tomorrow. Yesterday I was on the highway and noticed my temp guage was heading to the hot side. It got all the way to the H so I pulled over let it cool down then got back on the highway and kept it at 60mph and had the heater cranked on high. That kept it out of the H. When I got it home I let it cool down enough (or so I thought) but when I popped the lid to check the antifreeze level, it shot out and got on the belt and supercharger pulley. Now I have a squeel on the pulley that I can't get to stop.
Any ideas?

Try a spray can of belt dressing on your belts. Do it in stages - spray it on, let it soak in for a few minutes, then repeat, repeat, repeat. Coolant on belts is difficult to get off, but this is worth a try....
Anti-Freeze mixes with water. Gently flush it off. It will eventually go away anyway even if you don't clean it off.
Your super charger belt is prone to squeak unless you have the upgrade with the double sided ribbed belt and pulleys.

It's got the single sided rib belt with the smooth tension pulley. The car was manufactured Feb 2006, so it must have got built before the change.
It looks like I need to remove the intake tube and reservour to get to the belt. I'm going to try the flush first, because the belt looks to be in excellent shape.

Coolant on the belt appears to 'glaze' it and the only permanent solution is a new belt.
I remove belts before cracking any joints or hose clips in the cooling system. Takes very little extra time and saves a lot of annoyance and cost.
