I think you would need a 49 offset. I could be wrong but I have an 04 XJR and when I purchased a set of rims that offset was mentioned.

But that doesn't mean 35 offset won't work correct?

Even if they bolt on and clear the calipers etc they will change things such as handling and suspension wear (and perhaps performance).

IMO avoid such changes.

Over here, you'd risk having an unroadworthy car (thus illegal) and would of course need to insure specifically for the change.

I can deal with those changes, I want a 305 tire in the rear!

as it is , the rear under guards catch slightly with some 275's ,
don't think you'l get them under there .
maybe with the inner guard removed ? but would you want that ?

I'm running 275s now with 1/4" clearance on rear guards. No rubbing.

i knew that . although tread width is generally much the same with all 275's . not all 275's are the same width in the tyre wall .
hence me stating this .
i have scared plastic under guards to prove it .
Hankook 275's rub . Bridgestone and Dunlop do not .
this shows how little room is left for error in the rear end.

Odd. I've had those in 275 with no rubbing.

I cannot explain why yours did.

Some budget 275 tyres are noticably narrower than branded tyres.
I have no idea how they get away with this, but it is a fact.
I guess that some branded 275's are wider than others as well??

From what I have been told unlike the fronts the 275/35/18 rear tyres are quote an unusual size. As such I doubt that jaguar would have gone for this without a good reason.
