When was the first year the S-Type R came in Radiance Red?

I came up with 2003 based on several searches. I like it better than the new Claret Red on the 2010s.

cool thanks, why are they the most expensive, dam all the ones I have seen for sell about 5k more that a black or grey one.

I noticed that too. My guess is the relative rarity and the color is really nice, especially in the bright sunlight.

I don't know if its an issue with the R. Red or with Jaguar paint in general, but compared to other cars, the clear coat on my 04 STR scratches/swirls pretty easily and needs a bit more TLC. In the 5 years that I've had the car, I've seen quite a number of STR on the road in SoCal but only come across another R.Red STR once.

 

It's the only color to have, yes I have a 2005 STR in R-Red. When I started looking for an STR I thought I wanted one of the greens they came in, till I saw it in R-Red. OMG yes it's true ,in bright sun light it just looks POSH, I sit at my local Starbucks all day just watching people stop & stare then nudge the person they're with & say "now that's the car to have". I just sit back take a long slug of my coffee & think to myself " yes, it's good to be the King!"
