Rear Cupholders
Has anybody had these out?
One of mine is not locking and I want to get it out without breaking it to see if I can fix it.
I've got the front cover panels and the surround off, but I can't figure out how to release the cassette unit.
Any ideas?

Thanks Jon, I don't think a diagram will help, I can see the clip just can't fighre out how to release it.
The cupholder is a real piece of junk but I'd like to have it working.

I think the removal process is in the New Product 2000 training guide and maybe the X202 intro if there is a different cupholder.
The soft trim removal section is where it would be if it was listed.
I really need to dig out my training guides and copy them to .pdf.
Maybe someone already has it electronically available.
There are some plastic tabs that need to be bent toward the center of the cupholder (down & up) to pull the entire right or left holder from the seat cushion. I use a carbide HOOK TOOL to pry the tabs but it has been YEARS since I pulled a unit out.

Thanks Bob,
Do you mean the box complete with both cupholders?
It looks to me like that is moulded into the seat cushion and the individual cup holders would come out.
Wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong!

I had a quick look yesterday, but will check again.
I've changed my water pump and ac compressor this week, the ashtray was sticking so I pulled the centre console out to fix that, now I'm stumped with a little plastic clip.
I'll get it!

Does anyone know where I can get the caps for the cup holder than make it flush with the seat? My cup holders work but the end caps are gone and you can see in to the cup holder slot. Maybe it's just me being ****, but I'd like to close them up and seal them.
Thanks for any help!

The end covers for the cupholders are color coded to the interior.
You need the 3 letter trim code to determine the color.
They come as part of the cupholder but they can be removed and swapped.
I have swapped the end covers from broken units to a new one that was a different color because parts dept did not have the correct color. I even have a plastic bag full of odd end covers somewhere in my pile-o-parts.
The individual cupholders are removed from the plastic bezel in the seat. There are 2 plastic release tabs on the top and 2 on the bottom. They are accessed from the inside of the cupholder unit.
They need to be bent IN to release from the bezel.
