looking for some info regarding the rear diff.

What excatly is different between non R diffs and R diffs?
I have a band spanking new trac-lok I was going to put in my Mark VIII but its my understanding the S-types also use a 8.8 diff. so it should drop right on in.

The trac-lok is for a 28 spline axel 8.8 diff.

Gearing?
Spline count?

 

Mafioso, the STR has if my memory serves me correct a 2.88:1 reduction gear in the differential. Pretty steep Autobahn gears reduced by low ZF transmission gears.

 

Hmmm the mark VIII's came with 3.07's I bet it would be more of a rocket 3.07's or 3.11's and not affect gas milage too horribly
