Default Rear marker light change

Hello,

Could someone please shed me some light on how to open the marker light in the rear bumper ? (the red light under the trunk on the left and right side) My car is 2004 S-type.

Thank you very much.

Default Rear Marker Light Removal w/pics

Difficulty level: novice
Tools needed: none
Time: 1 minute

First lay parallel which side you want to remove. Reach up behind bumper skin (tight spot), push around and you will see marker light assembly move. Push up on front tab (see arrow(s) in picture) push out on front assembly, push up on rear tab, using other hand wiggle marker light assembly out of bumper skin.

Thank you.

Now that I have open this thing, the housing for the bulb is not there. What should I do ? It might be fall somewhere in the rear bumper. Is opening the rear bumper up difficult ?

Any idea please ?

I do not understand. The socket in the red marker that holds the light bulb is missing? In the first photo the red "hump" inbetween the black arrows is not there, then you need to purchase a new marker lamp. I highly doubt that the broken off piece is still somewhere on the vehicle.

Hi Joycesjag,

The one that is not there is the cable. The white part which hold the lamp is there, but the cable connect to the white lamp is not there.

I hope this will help, and please give me a suggestion, or I don't have choice besides go to the dealership ?

Thank you very much in advance.

I'd like to be able to do it myself too. But is it difficult to remove the rear bumper?
