Default Rear Parking Sensor

sorry guys but as this is my first ever JAG, and its a 3lt SE is a 1999 I could be here for days trying to find the very basic answer to possibly a very easy question for most of yo, so here goes.
In my boot I have a XR83-15T850-AA, This being the parking censor, but it is not connected to anything, the outward cables are not there, What and where should they be connected to, the sensors on the bumper are there but just not the cable to connect them , that I can see , does anyone have a photo of an actual unit in situate in the boot just so I can see all the cables, at this stage I am thinking that there may have been a fault in the past and the connector was simply removed ?

thanks
Steve

Our Jags are old enough now that they are appearing in local self-service junkyards. A visit would not only answer your question but provide you with any necessary parts very cheaply.

Because the trunk/boot pools water in the earlier models the parking sensor module gets wet and fails. This is a universal problem. Any sensor with a white chalky look on the outside has been around water. Go on Ebay and most used units with good photos will have the chalky look. I gave up trying to find a good used unit for earlier rides (2000, 2002) that I've since sold.

It seems to have been fixed by the 2005 and later post facelift models as my trunk stays dry on my current ride.

If you have such water, find & fix the leak!! None should ever get in.
