I have noticed an oil leak from the front nearside of my gearbox / engine joining area . My gearbox has golden zf oil in it and steering fluid isn't that red that it could be that . Has anyone any idea what it could be ? I've tried to include a photo but can't seem to upload it . Any advice would be welcome .

 

Have you had to top up the power steering reservoir?

Inspect the bottom of the vehicle whilst on stands to see if the source of the leak can be determined.

 

I think I may need to as its between the minimum the maximum mark but the steering fluid doesn't appear to be red .

 

Top up the power steering reservoir and clean the the area showing the leak so you can see later if there is a drop in the fluid level.

Sometimes one of the outer seals on the rack can begin to leak with fluid filling the bellows on the rack end.
