Removing door window switches
I am trying to change the interior color scheme of my Jag and came across the window switches and am having a real hard time removing them since I don't want to damage the wood. Is their a speacial tool or do I have to remove something else first before the window switches. Any help will be appreciated.

RE: Removing door window switches
You have to pull the door panel off. Then look at the back side where switches are and it will all become clear how to remove switch pack.
In case you are not sure how to remove panel, look down inside inner door pull is and you will see a rubber pad. Pull that up and you will see two phillips head screws. Remove them. Now where the inner door handle is, remove the plastic surround. Then just grab door panel at upper outside corner and kung fu grip it off of there.

Ok, sounds good, I totally understand the kung fu grip technic.... it was explained by you on how to remove the theater lighting.... I chuckled when I removed the theather lighting.....all that came to mind when reinstalling the lighting was...... "Everybody was kung fu fighting"......

Thanks for very helpful tip re removing door panel, but when removed it is not clear how to access the (in my case) window switch passenger door assembly. There are several hexagonal low profile nuts that are fastened onto what appear to be plastic pegs. But there is no easy access to the pin (or whatever) that is holding the aft end of the window switch in place through the hole in the plastic casting. Any clues as to how to proceed?

the door trim contantains of three parts which are fastened with those hex nuts: the armrest (with the switch), the speaker cover, and that part that holds wooden veneer. Unscrew the nuts that are in the "middle" of the door panel to release the armrest (I'm sorry I can't remember which nuts exactly hold the armrest). The armrest fits quite tihgt, so some "gentle strenght" will be needed. That's pretty easy job You'll see. I suggest You to unscrew all the hex nuts, so You'll have clear view how all this thing works, that won't ruin the trim
