I have found quite a bit about his on the forum already. Maybe too much and that is my problem. I just bought a 03 S-Type and was only given 1 switchblade type key. I have called a few of the local lock smiths and they all say I have to go through the dealer. I have read here that you don't have to go through the dealer though. The dealer wants $465 plus Tax to do it. I have found the key on eBay for around $70 but that doesn't do me any good if I can't get it programmed.
So what are my realistic options here?

Oh Ya, The local dealer is Jaguar North Scottsdale. There is another dealer but it is on the far side of town.

 

With the 03 there is no option except to have the dealer do the programming.

You could ask how much they would charge to cut and programme it if you supply the key. Then pick up the ebay part if it is cost effective.
