Default Request: How to reset seat preferences for 2003 S-Type R

Hello,

First I have a 2003 Jaguar S-Type R Supercharge.

So recently I was playing with my driver's seat memory settings and now when I open and turn off the key the seat auto moves all the way back. It did not do this before I played with it.

I don't really care for this in cars and I would like to turn it off completely. I don't want it to auto move when I open/turn off the car.

Now you see, first I'm the only one who drives this car and I personally don't like that the seat moves. In fact, I'm normally quick and I can get out/in my car before the seat is even finished moving. So this actually hinders me getting out. In all honestly it just annoys the crap out of me.

In short, how do I turn off the open door/turn off car auto move seat preference?

Thanks.

On the left side of the steering column is a switch, all you need to do is turn it from auto to pedals or column.

Is it that little button in the middle of all the window buttons?

Thanks a lot. I'll do that later today! I really appreciate it (the pic helped).

On a side note, what is that little button in the middle of all the window buttons?

Thanks.

Holding the button first will allow a new memory set to which ever button you choose.

Are you saying I can memory set the window levels too?

The button in the middle of the window buttons is to disable the rear window buttons, keep the kids from rolling down the windows.

Sounds like you have never read your book for the car. All that info is in it

You know that snide remark is completely unnecessary?

Maybe you forgot that we are talking about a vehicle that is over 12 years old, maybe you forgot that I'm probably not the original owner, and maybe that book didn't transfer from owner to owner because "Car Manuals" aren't really a coveted asset.

With that said you were helpful before, thank you. This time you were not.

My apologies for assuming you had a handbook with your car. They had
some great resource links for online handbooks in the header of this board
for the 2003 S-Type. But many of them are so old with bad links I could
never get what I was looking for. Turned to google and found more.

Found something useful for you to read, look under the link before you drive
and click on it, page 22 of the PDF has what you are looking for.

Download all the PDFs from the 1st link and save them in new folder so you have
a quick reference point to look for answers on your car. I did it and sure beats
trying to find anything in that huge clunky handbook.

It's odd that hardly any car makers provide their handbooks as free downloads. Hooray for Jaguar!

Great advice in the event Topix ever goes offline. It's only a matter of time, isn't it?
