Default Restricted Performance warning

Hi All
I wonder if anyone can advise, the restricted performance warning and amber light come on if I go at 70mph or if I accelerate sharply in my S-type, 2.7D,
But the light and warning don't come on straight way but a little after I have done either of these things, there is no noise or smoke and the car still drives very smoothly, ( although once it comes on, I only go as fast as 60mph) If I stop the car and start up again the light is off unless I accelerate or hit 70.
faulty turbo sensor has been replaced, but it is still doing it.
Anyone have any ideas?

Kind regards and many thanks
Paul

Hi Paul
Sorry about you car trouble. I too had the same problem today. I was traveling about 50mph when the restricted performance light came on. Got to my destination. The car sat for about 2 hrs before I drove again. Didn’t have a problem when I drove home, but I am worried if I get on the highway things might go wrong.

Paul: You need to have a professional level diagnostic scan run on your can. Diagnostic error codes will (hopefully) point you, or your mechanic in the right direction. Just so you are aware, many of the members of this forum are from the States and the 2.7 diesel was never sold here.

Laurie: The same applies to you in terms of getting a scan done. You did not indicate the model year and engine type of your car. Hopefully it is an S-type. Also, new members are expected to post an "intro" that tells the forum about you and your car in the New Member Area:

Yes, I have had a diagnostic plug in, but it has not been able to pin point the problem unfortunately.

Afternoon All
Just a follow up, it actually turned out to be a faulty EGR valve, this has now been replaced and now the car drives like new.
Kind regards
Paul
