s-type brakes
Hi all,
I need your guys help. I replaced the brakes and all rotors along with the left front caliper on a 2001 s-type. Everything went well until i realized the all the brake fluid from the reservoir was gone.
Can someone tell me what do i do now? do i just continue to bleed the brakes from rear right, rear left, front right and then front left? or do i need to buy a new master cylinder? Do i have to remove the master cylinder to bleed it?
Please HELP someone

Refill the master cylinder reservoir and continue to bleed in the order you described. Might be easier with a MityVac but either way, you will have to watch the reservoir to ensure it does not run dry.
Yes, the fluid ran out when i replaced the caliper and i didnt think about it at the time. To make matters worse, i also hit the brake pedal without the caliper being on .
So, i just refill the reservoir now and proceed with the bleeding making sure it doesnt run out again until no bubles show up. i appreciate this help...thanks
First of all, i want to thank all that offered their help. Thank you.
I have completed the brake job and bled the brakes successfully. Here is the break down in case someone needs to know as well in the future. Once all the brakes were done, it was time to bleed the system due to air in the lines and master cylinder being depleted of fluid and replacement of front left caliper. First, fill up the master cylinder reservoir to the top. Because i replaced the driver's side caliper, i Bled that side first. Then i started the normal bleeding sequence Rear right, Rear left, front right and finally again the front left. Make sure that your reservoir always has fluid between jobs. If you let it run out, you will need to start over. job completed. By the way, the brake pads, rotors and calipers are the same as the 2002 ford thunderbird.

Glad you got everything buttoned up but your comments leave me with a question. I have often heard of a bleed sequence associated with Jaguars but each wheel is fed by a dedicated brake line from the ABS system.
What difference does it make?
Inquiring minds want to know.
