Hoping you can help me, I have a 1999.5 S Type Jaguar and the interior mirror has failed. The original one looks like this:



So, I got onto the net, and googled it, and up pops and Americal site, with interior mirrors from 2000 to 2004 (no picture). How different could it be between 1999? Retrieved the part number as XR835928, and ordered one from the UK, still with no picture. It just arrived and it looks like this:


So where to from here? The mount on the windscreen is different.. I could replace this (worried about cracking the screen), would have to put on a black vinyl sticker on screen to hide wires from outside and next the electrical connects are different, although it is still 3 wires.

I would ask the following questions:

• Does anyone recognise this mirror, and what model it's from
• Although the conectors are different, will they splice into my system
• Is all this is possible, where could I get a wiring connector for the new mirror?

Peter,

You received a mirror w/ the rain sensor in it that trips the auto windshield wipers. I have that one my 2001 S-type but am not sure how it will connect on yours. Hope this helps.
