Good morning

I've read the codes on this jaguar r P1346
P1646
P1000

The supercharger isn't giving any codes even though its rattling or part of it is,

Can anyone give me a list of things the check before buying a Stype R

Thxs

There are existing threads about buying an STR so please just read them.

Buying one with known faults is not for the inexperienced (unless they have deep pockets and don't care about costs, although it would probably still be unwise).

Charlie, I think what we're suggesting is that the price does NOT necessarily reflect that. $9500 is not necessarily low enough when considering the problems that we're hearing about.

I'll tell you what: I've got an '03 STR that's VERY NICE. it's a solid driving car. No issues (except a squeal from a belt, which I'll rectify the moment my gatorback belt I just ordered arrives). Brand new tires. Integrated Video. silver/black. I'll sell it to you for $10,500. MUCH better idea than spending $9500 on a car with so many known issues.

yes, I'm serious. Let me know if you're interested.

Charlie, mcjaguar made you a very generous offer. Otherwise, the rattling noise is likely a worn tensioner pulley bearing or another serpentine pulley bearing. The lack of info. and issues garnered so far from the STR your buddy is trying to pawn on you causes me to believe this is a $7000 STR that you'll likely invest another $3000-$4000.
