How do I remove the shift knob on my 2006 S- type. It is automatic. I tried simple push and unscrew but nothing happened. Truth be told i haven`t pushed too hard, since I am afraid that something might brake. Any tips are welcome.

 

On my 05 s type the shift knob just unscrews counter clockwise. I think there is then a collar left on the stick to prevent the shift knob from going down too far. Think its secured with a grub screw. Hope this helps.

 

So, I just need to unscrew to shift knob? Sounds simple. I will give it a try.
