We fixed the wiper issue. Replaced the water pump, but now have the recurring transmission problem.
The trans slips when placed into gear from a stop. It also slips when driving forward from a stop. No work has ever been done to it, yet. There is a pause from Park to Drive before the trans engages. When taking off at a moderate pace from stop, there is an occasional slip where the trans feels as though it is not engaged. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I am mechanically inclined but have not worked on this trans. I believe it to be the BMW type.

At 2002 you should have the 5R55N box which is a Ford unit and should be familiar to many tranny shops.

You should probably ask your question in the S Type section, a lot of the guys don't wander over here.
