Default S-Type wiper blades

Does the S-Type have special wiper blades that are only available from the dealer? My new '08 4.2 is at my local mechanic for some minor stuff and I told him to put new wipers on. But he just told me that he couldn't since they were "special" and he'd have to order them.

Do S-Types have special wipers and is it connected to the windshield washer spray on the wipe arm?

The later ones are a bit more tricky.

It depends on the year. 05's and newer have the washer jets incorporated into the blades. You can find threads here with information on options.

Ya, and that's four things I don't like about my new '08 4.2 v.s. my X-Type and three of them have to do with the wipers:

1) No heated windshield
2) Wiper arms don't fold up
3) Wipers are unique
4) Area behind the hood will fill with snow

Anything else I missed?

Things I like about my '08 4.2 v.s. my X-Type:
1) 300 HP V8
2) 300 HP V8
3) 300 HP V8

But I must have missed something...

No but it was available till the end of production.

I suppose you bought one without it despite apparently wanting it but it's not a disaster as you could still fit the screen. Almost for sure prewired. People do that over here sometimes.

The problem is that the nozzle is part of the clip that snaps into the blade frame and then the hook arm slides over it.

Do a search in this forum and you will find a few suggestions for solid blades.

Yup, did that right after beginning this chain and found that chain.

Thanks
