I want to buy a 4.0 /4.2 S type which year is the best?

Stay away from the 4.0.

Doesn't really make much difference with the 4.2s, latest and fewest miles, best condition, best prices, etc...

The more service records available, the better....

What the above have said, also its a great idea to have a 1-2k cash reserve handy for unexpected repairs, they will happen.
