Sat Nav retrofit identity crisis
Hi. I have a really peculiar problem with my retrofit sat nav - I've posted about this on the UK forum but haven't yet been able to solve it.
Having retrofitted sat nav to my 2005 S-type 4.2, I'm having trouble with the touchscreen system. The touchscreen came from a 2006 S-type and I've previously had it installed (retrofitted) in my 2003 3.0 S-type without a problem.
But now I can't set the clock - the menu options are for auto folding of the side mirrors and double/single lock - and the time won't appear on the instrument cluster. In the advanced menu, (phone-menu-1971) the 'X350' button is lit instead of the 'X202'. I change the selection and all is well for a few minutes but it then defaults to X350. My car just won't believe that it's an S-type.
I learnt from the UK forum that the 'brain' of the touchscreen is in the dvd drive in the boot. I replaced the one I had been using with one from a 2007 car but I've still got the same problem.
Does anyone have any idea of what could be going on here?
Cheers.
