Smartphone dyno app
With the recent dyno and performance discussions, I thought there must be an app for smartphones that uses the built in sensors to measure acceleration, etc. Sure enough I found several. I downloaded a free one called "dino dyno". It requires you to input the vehicle mass, frontal area and drag coeffecient. Anyone have those figures handy?
I downloaded Dynolicious to my iPod Touch but haven't had a chance to do a pull yet. I did buy a cupholder mount for the iPod so it remains stable. Just isn't much in the way of a straight road around these parts so haven't had a chance to give it a real go.
Bear in mind it will only be a rough approximation, particularly if any WOT is used. (You can probably improve accuracy if you do something like stopwatch time over 1/4 mile you've accurately marked out.)
Car weight is in handbook I think.

I found the needed specs in an old Car and Driver review. I wil try to get a couple 1/8mi runs using both my phone and tablet for comparison. Wil post results in a couple days.
