Speaker Volume Drops when breaking and/or turn signal
Greetings,
I drive a 2007 S-Type 3.0 w/ GPS Navigation head unit - regular stereo/CD player - not Alpine - no CD Changer - no Amplifier.
When I have the radio on or CD playing - I can hear a drop in the volume/power that comes out of the speakers when I break and/or turn on a directional signal. It isn't a huge drop in volume - but it is noticeable. Especially when is volumes back when I accelerate after having used the directional signal and breaking to make a turn.
I am looking to add an amplifier - would this help w/ the drop by regulating the volume better? Or is it an electrical issue? Would a bigger more powerful alternator help? The battery looks new.
I'm not much of an electrical guy other than ground, positive & negative...
Thank you for any and all suggestions on how to solve this issue and/or links to posts where this topic has been discussed before!

There was an option that would adjust the volume automatically. Do you have that turned on or off? I think Jaguar called it AVC? Automatic Volume Control.

Any other symptoms - such as Airbag or Cruise Control problems? If so, culprit could be the clock spring, since there are steering wheel controls for the audio there. My faulty clock spring first turned up as bad volume control off the steering wheel (which I never used, but tested for troubleshooting purposes) and later, as an open airbag circuit (B1932 code) fault.

Never heard of AVC - but upon searching it - it may be the issue!

Warspite - thanks for the response. No other issues - or warnings coming up. It just seems to be a softer/louder issue.
I've only had the S-Type for a little over a month now.
If you can post back if that fixes your problem.

clubairth1 - you were Spot On! It was the Automatic Volume Control! Thank You!!!!!
I found the AVC and it was set on 4 out of 5 (4 blue rectangles).... So I brought it all they way down - to the left - using the "-" and it is now off...
- I hit the Menu Button
- Touched "Volume Preset" on the Screen
- AVC is second down.
- You can touch "-" or "+" to increase it or decrease it.
- I brought it all the way down to where none of the 5 rectangles were colored blue.
- I then touched the "OK" button.
