Unhappy Speed sensors / reluctor rings

Hi all, first post so forgive the inevitable post rule violations/mistakes!

I have the an ABS error showing on dash, DCS fault and the brake symbol is is amber. My speedo has now stopped working but seems to work every now and again.

I've read a few posts that indicate his could be the speed sensors so I too a quick look and the Sensors seem to be rubbing on the reluctor rings. Is this normal? I fear not but the only pictures I can find on line seem to show a different model.

A squeak emanating from the back end has started this morning which sounded like it could be a brake rubbing at low speed. could this be the sensors?

Any advice is appreciated.

The link below by BugDoc shows pictures of the speed sensor on the 2002 (earlier model) and a step by step DIY and would be similar to your model.

I believe from this post and another one that a c1233 code is left front speed sensor and c1234 code is right speed sensor.

Another post explains "the entire wheel bearing and hub assembly replaced. It comes with new abs sensor already attached."

I hope this helps work out the problem.

They are meant to be non-contact. Sometimes they rub due to the wheel bearing starting to fail...

Not that expensive to fix. DIY or a decent indie can do it. Not something that needs to be done at a dealership.
