Steering wheel and trip counter Memory loss problem
I have a problem with my 2006 s Type 2.7 diesel it's only done 46000mls and to look at has been well kept, I also have its service history and the garage is known to me as reputable.
When I switch off I get a pinging alarm and a msg that says apply foot and parking brake. When you do this the msg clears but the trip counter also zeros and the steering wheel drops to its lowest position.
It's happened twice in two days now, the first time it also cleared the radio code. Which I also had to reset!
Has anyone had a problem like this and if so what was the cause.
Would appreciate any help here as new to Jaguars.

Well the first thing to learn about Jaguars is when strange stuff happens.
Check the battery first.
Losing the battery code is a real clue. That is lost evertime the battery is unhooked.
Is your battery the original? If so don't even think about it. Just replace it.
Testing it is of limited use and age seems to be a better indicator.
Now if the battery is pretty new you will need to do more troubleshooting.

Battery was I believe the original factory item with Jaguar Stickers, bolt on battery strap also suggest it's never be changed.
Fitted a new one today so I see how it goes from here and if need be then look for bad connections.
Thanks for the advice
