They do stick out a bit don't they?
Yes a bit, but the wheels are hot. Could you have went with a 9.5 wheel with 255 or 265 tires to eliminate that?

They don't have a 20x9.5, but I am thinking that if I go with a 255 for my next set of tires it will stretch it in a bit. I don't want to be in that scene, but hey, for me it would actually make my car more functional.

JC, my math on michael star's car is as follows,

20x10 ET45 will stick out 18mm further than stock STR rear wheels.
Then consider he has <7mm spacer on there as well for brake clearance, thats 25mm less offset, which if you examine the first pic he posts from top down, looks about right, that's an inch further outboard than stock,

The coventry hornets do not come in a narrower wheel for the rear in 20"

They make a 19x9.5 though, but that one is ET25, so even before you add the spacer, thats already 32mm closer to the fender, so its even worse than the 20x10 ET45

For reference, the CF5's forgestar makes for the STR are 19x10 in the rear with ET50 (according to the forgestar rep i spoke with today) and those work out to 13mm closer to the fender, which judging by under-pressure's white STR on 19 CF5's, is about the very limit you can consider going over stock, as his has that 'hella flush' look so that really is a reasonable limit to work within,

Ok, thanks for all the Info, I just don't wanna look like everyone else, you know. I know a shop in San Fran that I've delt with before that does custom wheels and drills bolt patters to fit special orders, I'm gonna see what they can do for me on this one as well.

Cool, there are LOTS of companies who will build you a custom wheel for the STR, only question is, how deep are your pockets, in many cases, expect to get quoted anything $3k to $10k,

These guys can order you custom wheels from ALL the big names in custom wheel industry, look through their list of wheel manufacturers they carry/place orders with,

Howey Industries | #1 ADV.1, Forgestar, HRE, D2Forged, iForged, and Avant Garde Wheel Distributor

Just remember you need a lot of positive offset in the rear to make a 9.5 or 10" wide rim work,

Oh trust me I'm well aware of how costly it can be and how offsets work, I just didn't imagine it would be worse than my SRT8 which it sounds like it is.

Default Coventry Hornets vs Forgestar CF5 for NA 4.2 non-staggered

Michael Star and GT42R: I'm looking at Coventry Hornets for my NA 4.2 VDP 2005 in a non-staggered set of four, 8.5" wide in either 18" or 19" diameter, in the offset they spec for the S-type in this size wheel, +42. Currently I have stock springs and dampers/shocks. I do not intend to lower to the extent of H&R ever, and will probably keep the stock springs. With that information, do you have any input on fitment, etc., for the Hornets on my car, given your experience and knowledge? I'm also interested in the Forgestar CF5 (?) that you STR guys are getting, but in a non-staggered set that will fit 245 width tires all around. Rough cost comparison to the Coventry Hornets? Other considerations (forged are lighter and stronger, all good, but my car is tame in comparison to you guys' STRs (often with power mods))?
