Default Stock Alpine stereo CD changer

Has anyone knowledge of the stock Alpine CD changer? Does one have to listen to the entirety of a CD before the next CD is played, or can a CD be selected from the stack to be played?

Seth you can pick which CD you want to listen to, you are not forced to listen to them the whole way through. You can skip songs or skip to whichever CD you want. I don't really use mine at all since I don't like having to go into the trunk to change CD's and I always forget what is in there. Thinking of removing the changer and trying to use that feed for an AUX input instead.

just use the 1-6 buttons, and the track buttons to switch songs. The steering wheel controls in mine are on the back of the steering wheel. It toggles through songs. Using the 1-6 buttons switches to those cd's.

Dang! phdvolt, not that I'm the sharpest knife in the drawer...but I thought I was at the mercy of waiting for a CD to play-out. I knew how to jump from one track to another, but didn't know I could change CD's by hitting 1-6 on the keypad. Thanks for helping me to skip the friggin "Sting" CD I "used to be" forced to listen before the Santana CD. Does anyone have an idea of how to stop those songs from playing in my head?

Does anybody know where to buy a CD holder thing (not sure what it's called) for the CD changer in the trunk? Mine is missing.

Seth,

Just force yourself to watch an "American Idol" episode start-to-finish with the volume all the way up. After that, you'll be begging for those Sting tracks to play in your head again....

I had the McDonald's commercial jingle "Give me that Filet O' Fish...Give me that fish"....stuck in my head all morning.

The only way I could douse it was with a steady diet of Rage Against the Machine at top volume.

As others have said, but also: if you have the touchscreen and choose Audio you can touch the image of the CD you want to start playing.
