Default STR 18" wheels offset

Hi,
Trying to look around for wheels spec on our STR's.
There is a nice set near where I live which I would love to grab for winter tyres.Concern is rear, if I put 255/40 tyres (cannot get wider winters) will it look under sized as we are running on 275's?Also wheel is 9.5 at back and the one for sale are 8.5 all around (use spacers to get mean look?).

Since they do not meet Jaguar spec for the car I think you'd be open to big trouble from insurers and failing that if anything untoward happened then the police. Looks "brave" to go that way...

Don't get it, what police got to do with wheels and how I will get in trouble with insurers ?
Don't we all try to be safe during winter? With the power STR's have only way through snow.
To owe a STR isn't it being in trouble already lol

Do some research. You will probably be uninsured if you have an accident because those wheels do not meet the spec of the car and you risk prosecution and even jail too.

Yes sure 10 years in prison for having nice wheels-nice one.
All due respect I join a forum .com to avoid comments type .co.uk
Q in post was about wheel spec nt insurance (which I don't really care),usually I let them know that I have different type of wheels and they are ok with it.
I appriciate your input but pls stay on the topic as I would like to share some tastefull ideas rgds rims , mods which are stoned on UK car market-boring 16" original wheels for example that is really uncool
Thanx anyway and enjoy your day
Rgds

Jaguar spec the min size tyte and you can buy them, even though you wrongly say otherwise. The laws and min specs are there to try to stop people being a dangerous menace on the roads.

I doubt police would care. Get Spacers if they are 8.5 in rear. Im running 20mm spacers/adapters on 9.5 wheel lol

Knowing an officer who's attended many accidents I can assure you they check things like tyres and specs, looking for people to prosecute, ban from driving and jail. Maybe they don't in the USA.

I picked the jag up today. Oh my god it is fabulous!!!!
Wheels look awsome so will keep it as it is, will get winters in time to swap when near winter.
Cheers
