hi all

its a bit of a small issue really. i just want to know if the superchaged writting on the dials on the tacho should have a light behind it? mine doesnt seem to be working if it does? any one any ideas?? and is it worth pulling the dash to bits to find it?

second is v similar but the ashtray? should that be illuminated?

 

No light behind supercharged. So if its not lit you are good. I dont believe the ashtray is either. Every time I detail it I've never noticed a lens or light in there.

Yes, the ashtray is lit...

The base car just has a leaper where it says "supercharged" on the STR, so that is just a graphic and unlit.

 

Now I've got to go check my bulb cause I checked mine yesterday evening and it was not lit.

 

mines not lit, ive checked the fuse for the ash tray an its not that! not sure i want to go searching

 

To get to the bulb, simply pull the trim ring around the shifter and then remove the screws for the ashtray component. The bulb holder is mounted next to the ashtray bucket. It shines into the ashtray through a lens.

Actually easier to replace that the "darn" map lights in the overhead console....

I don't know what bulb it takes since I've only had it out to do the Sat radio install.

 

thanks for that, im not sure if the actual socket is working either. unless its all same circuit
