Default STR Fan on, why?

My previous Stype 3.0, the fan only came on when there was something wrong with the coolling system. It came on as a failsafe to protect the engine.

My 2005 STR comes on often? Even when the outside temp isn't so hot???
It's not staying on after the engine is turned off though.
The engine does run hot, you can cook an egg on the front panels and hood.

Is this normal?

Thanx.

That's not how it's meant to work. It should come on when any of several things occur but it's only "protecting" in the sense that there is (as with any car) a safe operating temperature range.

The STR is no different.
