Default STR with H&R and CATS shocks...

Hi Guys,

Looking for feedback on whether changing springs on there own work well with the CATS shocks, or have you put after-market shocks on.

Bilstein do CATS replacement and standard or i could put new OEM ones in.... but want to gauge feedback on real life effects and useability.

So what suspension changes have you made to your STR and what worked, works or did not..?

Thanks in advance...

Installed H&R springs & factory CATS shocks myself some 20K miles ago. Have worked flawlessly and even more so once the alignment was done properly according to BRUTAL'S specs.

See attached...

Hi! V8STR I have the H&R lowering springs with the cats shocks and have no problems, If my shocks were bad then I would have to make the decision on which to go with bilstiens or the cats personally I like the cats that way you get the best of both worlds normal for cruising and sport mode for when you want to it kick in the *** enjoy! She wears H&R springs, ditched the CATS for non cat Bilstiens (stock CATS are Bilstiens). The non CAT shocks are limear, as opposed to soft then progressively firmer.

I attached the alignment specs per Jaguar. Lowering will change things a bit so a good alignment shop will work with you to get it right for you. The difference with right hand drive is in Caster and Camber. Toe is the same.

I feel as if my OEM shocks are worn out at 28,000 miles. Is that possible or is it just me? I noticed it was floating over dips in the road pretty good. I've only started noticing this after I hit a pothole so hard that it cracked the wheel. Could doing that damage the shocks even if they arent leaking?

BlackX300VDP - you know those are 3 copies of the same file and are Front only?

I love the way they're not symmetrical (mirror image, if you will) for LHD & RHD!! Our roads must be a different profile to yours or something. hmm.

Sorry, I went back and checked. It turns out, those are the specs for all cars. S-types start on page 20. Since its a pdf, it loaded all the specs. Maybe someone can help get it where it needs to be for all to see. I noticed that the specs are not mirror images with regard to which side you drive on. Sorry for the confusion.

I was surprised it didn't include the rear settings. (If they've not changed then they're already on the site.)

Maybe our roads are a different shape to yours (apart from all the potholes). Mind boggling.
