Anyone know where i can get strut covers for a 2005 STR?

Mine are exposed and knowing that the STR has 2 stage dampers, i would rather they not be open like that. Looked around ebay, mina, etc, cant find them. Anyone have an idea?

 

Dealer, wrecker, online parts places. I can't see the point, though. The engine heat probably keeps it dry and working. Using dielectric grease would be worthwhile, perhaps.

 

I've had good luck getting hard to find used parts at Coventry West in Atlanta.

 

They didn't come with the covers on top of the towers in the engine compartment like theo 2003 models did if that's what you're talking about?

 

Yes, for some reason the covers aren't there. If im not mistaken all STRs came with them. Mine however are missing.

 

Judging from cars I've seen, most are missing . Maybe they stopped fitting them.

 

Interesting bit of trivia!

Your car is not missing them because Jaguar dropped them after 2003 on the STR. Like you I think they add a finished look to the engine compartment. I purchased a used set from a 2003 STR to put on my 2005 STR.

I also added these to my wife’s 2003 Lincoln LS because Ford did the same as Jaguar and dropped them. Except Ford dropped them for the 2003 and up model years. Jaguar appears to have dropped them for the 2004 and up model years.

They are a small but kinda cool thing to add. I think they are strictly for looks.

You would be surprised!
I got mine within a couple of weeks off EBay. Look for a STR parts car. There are usually 1 or more being parted out.
