have a 2003 s type v6, stuck in park, pulled cover over j track and turned the left dark colored nut toward front of car to get in drive to take to shop. no mechanic can get it out of park when put back using gear shift. I have been told I need a new j tract and the one in my car when replaced will need to be programmed to my car to be done only by jaguar, however they indicated I can get another one that needs no programming but no guarantees it will work, any suggestions?

 

A J gate assembly should be "plug and play"..

Could as easily be the interlock (microswitch / solenoid / etc - involves the brake pedal as you can see from the electrical guide on here & on JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource)
