Subwoofers on a 2002 s type with basic audio package

Subwoofers on a 2002 s type with basic audio package
I've owned the car for about a year and at this point I am pretty much done with the poor audio quality. I've purchased replacements for the front speakers and the actual radio but I'm curious about the subwoofers. Do I put them in the trunk? How big is big enough? And how is the installation process as compared to replacement of radio and speakers? Number 1 and 2 are the most important though. I'm thinking an 8inch powered sub will be good enough but is that too small to put in the trunk or will it be alright. If anyone else has put subs in their jaguar I'd love to hear about how it went.
