suggestions needed on coating rotors
I need to coat a set of front OE replacement rotors with some anti-corrosion paint. I assume it must be high temp. The rotor is steal. The area to coat is around the hub, NOT the area that the pad touches. I have a set on now that work great but for some reason the Euro parts company coat their rear discs but not the front?? Why, I have no idea since they know they will show through the rim. So now it looks like the center hub area is bronze/gold.
Any good primers to go with? My rear discs appear to be primed at the factory with battleship grey.
Thanx.

I used Rustoleum Gloss Black enamel. No muss/no fuss. Just brush it on.
Did not use a high heat paint because if the rotors get hot enough to burn this paint they are toast anyway.
I've got 2 years service so far and they look good. Prep was minimul as I did it when the rotors were new.
P.S. Paint the calipers if you have to but keep them wheel or body color. Red is soooooo California (look at me) IMO.

I did this on my Porsche, I was quite happy with how it turned out.
I basically cleaned the items, real well (degreased them)
Then I used high heat (500 degree) primer then I used some caliper paint. Note that booth paints have ceramic..
Prep is 90% of all painting, so as long as you get that part right you should be fine.. best of luck and post before and after shoots of your project..
Shaun.
