I am looking for a replacement spring latch for my sunglass compartment. It falls open everytime I close the door or hit a bump. I took the old one out so I can try some dealers. Any ideas ?

Mine has been doing the same thing for about a month now, so thisIS a common problem? When I get a day off I'll take it apart and see what I can come up with. I mean even my Honda Accord has a sunglass compartment that works properly.

 

Well, The good news is that the dealer sells the latch but the bad news is that it is 20.00! My dealer has it in stock so here I go.

 

I got the new latch and popped it in and it works great!

 

What about the latch on the pre 03 S-types where the ash tray goes? Mine stays open I try to close it but the the latch doesen't hold. It stays open. Is there a way to fix that?

 

I called the dealer parts dept. and told them what I needed. They asked for my vin. and they had the part. I would try that!
