Default OIL Change @ 7500

Who knew that oil changes are like politics & religion? Over the last 12 years I've driven two cars...an Audi TT and the '06 S-Type. I've always changed oil in the 7500 mile interval using a synthetic blend. Never, ever a problem.

Shouldn't be any problem. Slight over-expenditure than strictly necessary, I suppose.

I have used dino oil on all my cars for 35 years without any problems and some would stretch to 10 -12000 miles before I had a chance to change the oil.

In all my years in the auto industry the only oil problems we saw were due to leaks or usage and the owner not checking their oil.

We had customers who would boast about going ten years and 150,000 miles and never change their oil, just top off when needed.
When we took one in as a trade we had th chisel off the original filter.
Most of these guys were automotive types and some were mechanics (cheap ones)lol. I would not suggest to do this,
Nothing wrong with synth BUT also dino will not fail
Use whatever makes YOU feel good. I will not convince anyone to my thinking and they will not convince me to theirs

In essence this is what it all comes down to.

FWIW,

I have 204k on my 06 Solara (ave 35k highway miles per yr) and I use conv oil, that gets changed out every 5k miles. Sometimes, my busy schedule keeps me from changing it until 7k or more. I even have it changed at that dreaded oil institution know as Jiffy Lube. They've tried to sell me on everything from "high mileage oil" to "synthetics", and even tried to convince me that I need to change it every 3k miles...but that trusty old Penzoil at 5k mile intervals has yet to let me down. I've had it since new and will continue to use conv oil until I see blue smoke coming from the tailpipe. Then I'll have to let her go...and given the latest compression test I had done....that will probably be around 400k miles or so...
