>in new zealand a black ex japan 2005 STR with black/YELLOW interior with 120000km is $16500nzd

11K USD for an STR with 74K miles seems pretty sweet to me (depending on overall condition of course...)

Agree, do your research and check the car fax. I just purchased my 2006 S Type R from a local Jaguar dealership. My S Type R has 55,000 miles has been meticulously maintained and has an extended warranty. Good luck in your search.

The dealer was asking $12,995 for the vehicle.

Well the 03 looks really nice and appears to be well taken care of. However, the owner isn't willing to drop below $10k for the car, so that's not gonna happen when the KBB is $7800 in Excellent condition. I realize the KBB is a negotiable price to start at between buyer and seller, but I'm not about to be upside down in a car from day one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the price seems high based on what I've seen so far.

Yes, that seems a little high on the asking price. But if the owner is no hurry to sell, they more than likely sell it to somebody willing to pay that price that just has to have that car! Keep on looking there are plenty of them out there and if you are willing to travel a couple of hundred miles you will have more to choose from.

Very nice car! Hope you get your price. My 2005 STR 119K miles and everything fixed and working (DCCV, plugs, Lower mile blower, Under SC hose, All hoses, AUX and intercooler pumps, Transfluid and sleeve replaced, Zero rust southern car but no BT or voice) I was offered $3K trade in.

But what is the DANA Rear diff upgrade?

Jaguar had trouble with the previous maker so changed maker, but the new ones were not compatible thus the other changes. A nightmare if anyone's older diff fails!

Default Jag Effect

All interesting and mostly valid points, IMHO. However..........there is one thing you get with an STR that is PRICELESS - what my wife calls the Jag Effect! We have the car at our place in Scottsdale (yeah go ahead with the jokes) and she is there much more than I am (one of has to work) so she has this recurring experience..........once or twice a month someone goes out of their way to acknowledge the car. Now maybe it's because its unusual to see a not so young anymore lady driving a real drivers car or maybe it's because it is exotic/rare even there. I had the experience once, much younger lady acknowledged me/it one morning as we were both exiting for a conference. She was in a black on black later model MB CLS550, so assume she was a bit of a gear head as well (and I rarely appeal to those of her age bracket, so figure it wasn't me!) or at least appreciated a fine automobile.

BTW - this does not happen with the A6, the allroad or the TT before that was disposed of. Well, the allroad once but again a very unique ride. Similar story in Albuquerque for the Jag but more for the allroad in Santa Fe.

So to end this - if you are looking to go incognito, don't buy anything with the leaper on the hood and the "R" on the side!

Current mileage now 37,500
