Default Throttle body Just curious

In getting hold of a spare TB to play with (Port polish and match to intake elbow) I was sent another incorrect TB. Mine has the two plugs and the other has a single connector
Just having a quick look I noticed that the other (single plug) is bigger, 82mm dia than my STR TB 78mm.
Anyone have any ideas why such a difference and if its possible to fit the single plug version?

Ill check the part numbers. Supposed to be from an STR The elbow and alloy intake pipe are the same as my 05 STR. Dont know if the earlier models were single plug!

The parts catalogue's diagrams might help (JEPC) and also the number of pins, connectors etc are quite detailed in the (JTIS) Electrical Guide if you look. I suppose maybe compare connectors for the different engine sizes and different model years.

Looks like the two plugs an STR figment up to 05 and the single plug 06 onwards
Still thinking it would be interesting to fit the larger diameter single plug version

So long as the motor and the 2 sensors behave the same the PCM won't even know. Otherwise expect codes.
