Default timing chain tensioners

Rebuilt 4.2 2003 s type motor was brought to me in a box so have couple questions re tensioners upon starting after rebuild timing chains were noisy so pulled cover off to check for a visual problem. Discovered the tensioners were not getting any oil pressure have good pressure up to the cams. everything looked good with the oil pump

Since there is no reply as yet, I thought I would add what I know, which is near NOTHING on these V8's, but here goes.

The parts list shows the top chain tensiners are RH and LH?????. Maybe the units are on the wrong head from the rebuild, and are blocking the oil supply hole that is in the camblock?????.

Just my 2cents from way down here.

That's a tough one because there are very few problems with the 4.2L and certainly none with the tensioners as Jaguar made several design changes that fixed all the 4.0L problems.

Do you have the JTIS? It's free on this forum.

No i dont have JITS new to this site, what exactly is JITS Does any one know if there is an oil passage schematic available for the 2003 4.2 motor or have knowledge of how the oil flow from oil pump to tensioners. Trying to make a connection as to why I have oil pressure to cams but not to tensioner. Trying to figure out if cams and tensioners are oiled thru same passage.

If you seek the information you will find it... (I did notice the OP only has 5 posts and may not have access to downloads yet)
