Default Top Speed?

Ok so I know the STR is supposed to top out somewhere around 150mph by a governer, correct? Yesterday I was on the thruway and a very long stretch was ahead with not much traffic so I hammered down. Pulled hard till about 130 then just kinda stayed there. Would not go over that. What's up with that?

I vaguely recall a post saying US STRs have a limit of something like that (125? but the speedo overreads so would look higher). Here I believe it's 155mph but I suspect getting to it would be a challenge (and need an autobahn/track).

I've driven many cars with limiters on and they have always got to the limited speed (on the speedo) and a couple have gone well over.

When the cars I have driven have got to the limited speed they have felt like I have taken my foot of the gas for a second and then put it back on to keep the car around the limited speed.

I took my 4l to 150 without struggling

Well then US models suck! Anyway to override or bypass it? The car pulls so hard then just stops. Has so much more to go

I let off around 145, still pulling fairly well.

Wuz, what are the revs when it stops accelerating? What gear are you in?

This forum does not promote reckless/dangerous driving. Talking about how fast you have driven on a public road, well over the speed limit, doesn't go down well with the management...

The answer to the OP's question has been raised many times on the forum.

Sorry but another one bites the dust...
