You should have a button in front of the gear stick and an indication in the instrument message centre.

sorry, should have said its a 1999. Diffrent center consol. i have a traction control button next to the sport button below the j gate, but acording to the hand book this turns on and off both tc and dsc but the book also says dsc is an option. when i push the button the dash says traction control on or off. was dsc standard on the 4l v8 ?

Thanks

Many people just email (or call) Jaguar and ask for a full list of their car's details. I got one from a dealer but you can get them direct. Mine has more data than most would ever want to know, right down to the specific colours of trim items. If you email, ask your question at the same time. If you have doubts about your local dealer(s) (and frankly a substantial number are poor), be sure to go straight to the firm - after all, they have the records.

BTW, this advice has appeared here and on the .co.uk site multiple times

Come to a dead stop, then floor it... lol but seriously, it'll work. If you have DSC when you start to spin it'll kick in VERY noticeably.

(Yes even the 3.0 will light'em up, (sometimes just one cuz it's a one wheel wonder peg leg rear diff) just sux even with the DSC off cause it'll shift into second, grab traction, then shift back down into 1st, makes you look like a real turd that can't drive...)

EDIT: Just read your last post, (opps) Didn't realize that the S-Type had either TC, or DSC. Sry, my above method will not work. lol but glad you got you answer.

Yes, they emailed me at 10am. one of the options listed is Touring suspension, is this different to "normal" suspension or is this just what the "normal" suspensin is called ?

Thanks.

P.S. Should i have started a new thread with this question ?
