hi guys
i have a 2000 s-type which had a silky smooth gear box,until now
nothing major i hope,when it goes from 2 to 3 i get a bit of a thump from behind only under light accelaration but not all the time,the rest of the gear changes are still silky smooth, just was wondering if this is the start of somthing worse to come or can it be rectified car has done 104,000 any ideas.

When was the last time the trans was serviced? Should cost pretty much the same as any 'ol trans service since your car has the Ford box.
