Default Transmission Fault

Had the transmission fault message come up today, it seems to have cleared now but the engine check light is showing.
Anybody any idea of the likely cause?
I will see about getting the codes checked as soon as I can but any pointers would be useful, the car is running normally with no obvious problems.

2003 3.0 V6 S type by the way.

Thanks,
Norri

Styper526 you hit the nail on the head, the dealer just called and confirmed it is the tourque converter they will have a new one tomorrow, and are also going to fix a wee oil leak in the sump at the same time, good news is Select Edition is going to pick upthe tab
Hopefully all will be well tomorrow.

The only complaints I hear about Select Edition are from 2 particular people on these forums. Select is the best ext warranty for Jag hands down.

Well I got the car back today, new torque convertor, sump gasket, oil and filter change and O rings on the IMT valves, total cost $0.00 so I'm pretty happy with Select Edition right now.

As a bonus on Friday night an old biddy ran into the back of me when I was stopped at a red light[:@]Luckily the jag was tucked up at the dealers and I was driving the Hertz car they loaned me

There wasn't much damage but better on a rental car than mine I think.
