o3 type s r is for sale by me but has trans fault tcm seems to be problem can find used trans wonder if a swap will make right without any programing

 

Hi , I own a 03 str . I had gearbox fault . Many times the issue with the trans is pressure loss. I rebuilt my valvebody with sonnax zip kit . I replaced the bridge seal and 4 tube seals. The transmission shifts better than when I bought it new. These transmissions are sensitive to pressure and fluid changes . I'd recommend doing the service before replacing it . The zip kit was less than 200 $ and the trans oil and pan filter was inexpensive as well. You could do the whole service in a day . Hope this helps. You'll have to identify which gen zf trans you have . The way to do it is when you drop the valvebody there will be a code on a tab . Mine was #036 which meant it was a gen 1 transmission. I ordered the kit and a new seperator plate as well. Good luck

 

Could be a fake code (low battery) or the trans/shifter bolt(s) loose/absent.
