Trunk opening issue RESOLVED
Hi all, so the new problem with my 2001 S Type is: the trunk opens fine with either the remote key fob and with key in the little key slot in trunk lid.
Trunk does not open with dash release button nor the growler button on the plinth. The problem with the plinth button and dash release button occurred at the same time, so most likely related to each other. Dash button and plinth button move in and out ok, feels "right".
My question is, should I start unwrapping and checking the trunk wiring going up the right-hand side trunk hinge arm to check for chafed/broken wires, as some threads indicate, or should I look to the dash switch/plinth switch first?
As always, thanks in advance.

... and that's exactly what it was, Valet button was pushed in. Neat, I learned something new about the Jag with this, didn't know about the Valet switch before. Many thanks to all, much appreciated
