Default Boot / trunk opening!

Not sure if I have an issue with my boot / trunk opeining or not on the X.
When I press the keyfob to open the boot, it just barely releases the lock n no more. Its also fairly heavy to lift ( for the wife)
I'm wondering if the hydraulic rams have failed or are on their way out?
On the Audi it more or less pops right up?
I must get it checked!

Jim on the X types the bootlid just releases and no more.I brought this up atJags X Type seminar about why the S type fully realeases and lifts but the X just releases. They said it would mean serious ££££s toreposition the hinges etc and were not even considering doing it.
My bootlid raises easily by hand so maybe you have a problem with at least one of your rams...then again maybe not if yoiu find iteasy to lift.

Oh didn't realize you said its hard for the wife to open up...but than again my wife has no problems opening ours...I'd look into how much the hydraulic struts are...my guess would be that being the issue...

I have a similar problem in one ofmy cars . Especially if I don't open the hood let's say for a week ,I hit the button and hear the "clunk" but it refuses to be poppedout . I manually release it andcloseit slowly and after very 1st hitting the same buttonon the fob ,hood is opened .

Mine has had a problem from the keyfob to realease the latch by the fob but I usually don't use the fob to pop the trunk just unlock and hit that awesome little green button!

LMFAO! That was much too good mate. The fact is, you have to get your money to work for you, not you work for your money. If any of you read, take some time and pick up the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". Great financial advice and not all numbers and lectures that are boring. Instead plenty of stories of how the financial principles of which the author talks about apply to daily life! A business, ALWAYS, is the right way to go. Even if 90% of small businesses fall within the first 5 years, but it's always a great growing experience and it allows you to pick yourself up and head in a positive direction. Money saved up is pivotal.
