Undertray - Belly Pan - XR844760
I have now seen it referred to as both the Undertray and Belly Pan, but is this the plastic 'plate' that has a thermal shield attached on the engine side, or is the thermal part something additional?
Whether it was an Al Gore Global Warming Pot Hole from the 100's of inches of warm snow received in the US this year, or something else, I suddenly heard this sound as though my floorboard was dragging on the pavement and discovered that the tray had broken in the corner by the passengers right foot area and it was the thermal shield that was dragging on the pavement.
I took my 2003, S-Type 4.2 into my trusty mechanic - he raised it on his lift - showed me the broken corner and did a quick nylon strip connection through a drilled hole to the frame and off I went!
Does anyone know if the XR844760 part number supplied by my dealer is complete or is there another part required? I have been unable to find a picture of it anywhere.

Perhaps you can contact a local Jaguar agency and provide the VIN so they can verify which part is the correct one. They may also have an image of the part with enough detail to determine if the part includes any other pieces.
Did the local shop check the part for any part numbers moulded into the cover when they were reattaching it to the vehicle?

You can also look it up on the SNG Barratt USA web site by part #. It shows a picture also and it looks like a thermal shield is attached. At least with these folks you can call and get answers.
