Default Voice Activation Installed

Friend was breaking an S Type, it had voice control so he said I can have the module. Installed module and worked out the fibre optics. Added option via SDD, all working ok.

How can I find out a list of options. I've swapped many parts onto this car. Premiun audio, rear blind, voice. I'd like to add every option if possible.

Too add blue tooth do i just need the module under the centre console ??

Yes and a PSE module for the phone. But it's a very old and out of date system and you most likely will be disappointed.

Do you have adaptive Cruise Control?
Do you have the ACM?

There are two versions of the Jaguar Bluetooth system.
Both only work for phone functions they do not work with music or with texts. They were a replacement for the original wired phone system used in the S-type and X-type.
You really need the sat-nav screen to use them properly. The system uses the microphone for the ‘voice’ control that works ok or a separate microphone that gives better audio.
The early Bluetooth system uses two control units one in the boot (silver metal box part number starting with 2W93…) and one smaller black plastic box in the centre console (the BTUM), you can only pair one phone at a time and there is no signal meter on the display.
The later version has only one unit in the boot (black plastic box part number 7W93 10D893 AB) with a Bluetooth antenna that plugs into it. It will work without the antenna, but it is a lot better with it. With the later version there is no unit in the centre console. This later unit is the one to get as you can pair several phones and it has the signal meter on the display, I think it is also compatible with later types of phone and it requires a lot less work to install.

However although they do work both the above are very much first generation Bluetooth with limited functionality and as I said no music function.

It should also be noted that the voice control unit will only work with modules that the car it came from was fitted with from new. For example if the car it came from did not have a CD changer or a phone from new the voice control options for the cd changer and the phone will not work. The only way this can be added is using the Jaguar IDS/SDD software and to get the voice unit to re-learn what is on the system. (The '1971' diag. menu will not do this.)
