People have been buying (clone) Mongoose JLR with IDS/SDD for a while now, following various posts about them and their availability. Maybe you missed those posts - not too late to Search and catch up!

what ever damage you do, surely you could undo ?? unless the is a problem with your software or hardware, or your car

Well, I suspect you could "brick" something but probably won't. Failing to attach a charger while reprogramming would be a "good" way to try to get into trouble.

Guys,

Apologies, I guess you missed the rhetorical-ness of the questions. The post was more an expression of excitement rather than a request for help.

I don't think there is a post about this bit of kit I haven't read - I'm a little over cautious about these things...

Whereas I am probably going to wait an eternity for my car to spit out an error, and it will most likely be a power train code, the temptation to play, turn things on and off and experiment is quite overwhelming!

There was no reason to get these toys, it's purely an overt symptom of my 'shiney kit syndrome'.....

I certainly let you know if I stuff anything up... I'm a competent mechanic, but really appreciate the advice, instructions and lessons learned this forum provides. I would hate to repeat someone else's mistakes...

Cheers,

Maybe you should park somewhere where the car doesn't cause an obstruction........just in case!
