Weird chime
This is a new one (for me anyway): this morning I noticed a chime that I had never heard before. It's totally different than the seat belt/door chime -- sounds more like a piano chord than a "ding ding ding." It occured after I had driven for about 100 yards, chimed for 3 intervals of 5 times, then stopped completely. Next time I started it up, same thing.
It's not accompanied by any warning lights on the dash.
Anyone seen/heard this before? The only thing I can think is that maybe that is the warning for a bad fuse?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

This just happened to me right now! I started mine up and I heard three chimes I never heard before and that's it, it stopped and it only happens when I turn on the car or put in the II position. If you find out the problem or if I come to a conclusion I'll be sure to post on here to help you out!

One thing it may be is loose/missing bolt(s) on trans side for the shift cable. Can make car think not in park. Bigger trouble to come if they get looser/fall out, so check the 2 of them.
Mine started doing this last week when I would unlock the door with the
fob and open the door would hear a beeping sound for 10 sec and then stop.
Has done this everytime I unlock the door now it happens. Tried from the
Passenger side and nothing. I am wondering if it has something to with the
Power seat presets. Really hate the going all way back everytime I pull the
Key out.

G'day,
I had a weird chime that was driving me crazy. Occurred every time on starting the engine and from time to time whilst driving.Took the car to two Jag dealers and they could not find the problem.
I persisted with my search and by pure chance found that the chime occurred every time I put my foot on the footbrake pedal! Problem was with the brake booster which had to be replaced.

I think that might be my problem, every time I unlock the doors it beeps till the
brake light goes off. But the brakes work fine. the Emergency brake light is what
I am seeing going off. And it just Beeps till the light goes out at 10 sec.

The parking brake cable housing clips are likely broken by the caliper. The chime is because the parking brake module notices the motor moving, but not the electronic brake. I run into this at least once a month.
Yup, easiest to see with the wheel off. There are 2 brittle plastic clips that hold the housing to the bracket. If someone doesn't release the parking brake to the service position, before removing the caliper, they break sometimes. Sometimes they just break anyway. I would do both sides if you find this problem. Also, remember you have to reset the parking brake after you repair it. Foot on brake, key on, set and release 5x.
for it with out knowing what to look for. And the reset to, You all are fantastic helping out us newbie Jaguar owners, my life will never be the same after buying this money lover, wife really wanted it.
